Salisbury is booming. It's like a Deseret flower. Once it gets a bit of rain it blossoms into a beautiful flower. And it's about to start pouring here. Sara, the lady that me and Elder Hernandez started teaching two weeks ago, is on date for baptism on February 14th. She came to church yesterday and really enjoyed it. She is such a kind lady. She has 2 children who are down up and her husband is in the army so he is away a lot and is currently somewhere in Asia so she is just by herself at the moment. She is a school teacher and is very bright and understands what we teach her and asks good questions. She loves children and I think she is the most kind person I have taught. She is going to be a really good Latter-Day Saint. Other than her we are teaching a few other people but and have some appointments in the works. My miracle this week was being able to get a lift for Sara to get to church. We were going to have a lesson with her on Saturday but the member we had asked to come cancelled so we couldn't teach her and he was the one we wanted to take her since they live in the same town. We were panicking because we wanted him and his fam to give her a ride on Sunday as well but he was not responding. The member then texted us pretty late into Saturday and said they could take her.
My companion and I get along swimmingly. He is a funny kid and a solid missionary. His English isn't 100% there so I have been helping him with that and in turn he teaches me Spanish! It's a very slow going process... I was definitely called to an English speaking for a reason. He is from a place called Aguascalientes. He used to lived in the stated from 5 to 15 and then moved back to Mexico and worked as a mechanic. It definitely knows his cars which is always good to learn more about. I think this is against mission rules but I think I have convinced him to apply to BYUH. He also loves ping pong so have a quick lunch at the chapel and then play ping pong for 40 minutes.
We had zone training with the mission president this past week and it was my favourite one yet. It really helped me more fully understand consecration and kind of missionary I am trying to be! It's always a struggle trying to understand all the rules and the obedience to people and trying to take all this advice from missionary leaders but I'm coming to understand how to take the advice and how to better be myself.
